Communities

Carmelites sisters currently are found in four dioceses in Malawi namely, Lilongwe Archdiocese, Dedza Diocese, Zomba Diocese and Blantyre Archdiocese.

Lilongwe Archdiocese

OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL CONVENT – Regional House
Our Lady of Mount Carmel community was opened in March 1994.

It is located in Namitete (St. Peter’s Parish) at Namitondo area. It is our Regional house where the administration of the congregation in Malawi takes place, hence it is our headquarters in the Region of Malawi. We run a Nursery School and hospital (St. Gabriel’s Hospital) where some of the Sisters render services in the Nursing department, clinical department and maintenance department.

ST. THERESA OF THE CHILD JESUS FORMATION HOUSE
St. Peter’s Parish- Namitete.
This house was built in October 1967.The house is for the postulate which is the initial first stage in Religious Life.

JUJOJA COMMUNITY
It was built in 1981 for the Sisters working at St. Gabriel’s Hospital.

ST. TERESA OF JESUS CONVENT- Prayer House.
It was opened on 15th October 1987. This House was built with the intention for all the Religious and Laity to deepen their Spiritual Life.

Zomba Diocese

ANNA PAULA BOVE NOVITIATE
This formation House was opened in 2011 at Mlombozi Parish – Zomba Diocese, In order to form the young girls into Religious Life.

Dedza Diocese

ST JOHN OF THE CROSS COMMUNITY
This House was opened in 1971. It is found in Dedza Diocese Traditional Authority Ganya in Ntcheu District.

Blantyre Archdiocese

ST ELIZABETH OF THE HOLY TRINITY – Kadikira Parish.
This community was opened on 4th May 2019. It is located in Blantyre Archdiocese.
